College

So I haven't posted a blog since way before school started, so I guess it's about time. Vivi, I don't know how you do it. haha.

It's so crazy that most of you have barely started college, and I just had 4 midterms this week. Nutso!

BYU is lots of fun. I love the campus, and everyone is so friendly! I'm in what you call Freshman Academy (like everyone else, to get into housing), which puts the same people in most of my classes so we run into the same people more often. There's only two guys in it because it's an elementary education one, haha.

I'm living in Wyview Park, which is student-married apartment housing converted into freshmen housing. I have two roommates- I share with one, and the other one has her own room. We all get along really well, and it's a lot of fun, except when my roommate listens.sings to the new Taylor Swift song too many times. hahaha. jk. Wyview is really nice, but it's pretty darn far from campus. Lately I've been taking the bus the most, but still try to make the 20-30 minute walk every so often. I would have preferred the dorm hall setting to be in more interaction with people, since I feel it's so much harder to run into people here. But it's still fun.

At BYU for church we're all separted into wards ("congregations"). I'm in the 246th ward! haha. And despite having a church building right across from my door, my ward has to walk to the UPC building. Also for Monday nights, we have "families" to have family home evening with, so we do activities with them every Monday night. Unfortunately we only have 6 guys to 10 girls (and not everyone comes). There's so many activities all the time with church, fhe, building meetings with all the girls in my building and our RA, lots of dances, and on and on.

I'm taking Human Development (which I didn't have to take bc of AP psych, but bc it's in my envelope.....), American Heritage, Book of Mormon, Freshman Seminar (those are my 4 envelope classes), and then Geography and Intro to Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (which turned out to be an online class). College is sooo much more work than high school. So much reading! And so much more preparation for exams. I just took 4 midterms this week, and that was crazy! American Heritage was exactly as everyone said....crazy hard....bc it's not facts...it's application, and I got a 68% but with the curve it's like a C+. the averages for the tests are usually in the 50s or 60s. we'll see what happens. I really like my human development class, and teacher.

Football games are lots of fun! Especially coming from ST to a school that's really good! haha. The past two home games have been complete shut-outs. We beat UCLA 59-0. That was way fun for me since I know at least a few people going there....

My sister Allison had her baby girl! They named her Diana. She had some breathing problems so she has an oxygen tube and stuff. But I think she's doing well. =)

Here's me and Sarah at a game:
