Work

This summer I got a job at BYU Independent Study in the customer service department. I answer phones and do all sorts of things for people...request exams, answer questions, save people's lives (by getting things done for them for graduation of course haha, sometimes when their graduation is only a few hours away), deal with crazy situations that sometimes last me way too long. It's really fun, mostly because I have awesome co-workers. Such as Jenny, who is sitting next to me. Nod to her as promised. haha. You get all kinds of calls from international (such as South Africa and Egypt), nice people, not so nice people, luckily I haven't had a yelling call yet but......* knock on wood*

I've never been a phone talker, and I'm usually better with communicating with people in person than on the phone about these kinds of things, so this is definitely improving me. I think one of things I had to get use to was the absence of nonverbal communicating when you're looking into things- instead of just being silent and looking at their account to figure things out, to constantly be explaining and making things smoother by saying things like "one moment while that processes" or other things like that. I don't know if that makes sense, but there it is. haha.

We seem to be coming out of "rush" season, which is around the end ofApril to now, where everyone who is using Independent Study courses to make up a class for graduation is calling to get exams expressed and needing grades for graduation.

Anyways, now since most high schools are out, the phones are getting so slow! So much down time. Lots more way easy calls. So hopefully with all this time I'll begin posting more stuff on this-here blog. If you have any good websites to look at, or good books to read this summer...let me know! :)

I just got back from my vacation to Cancun this past Sunday! It was absolutely wonderful! More to come about that awesomeness.
