(There was a really cool asian playing the saxophone not far from Heidi in this picture. This is underground waiting for the Subway. He was amazing. )
Heidi's mom buying our tickets for the subway. She did an awesome job of navigating us everywhere.
Crowded subway happiness :)
Before we got on our cruise, we grabbed a hot dog from a vendor. After the cruise we found out that they were all closing up because President Obama was coming. Don't know if that actually happened since the news said he was elsewhere that day.
On the cruise, we went under the Brooklyn Bridge.....
went by Ellis Island
After we got off we decided to walk over to Ground Zero. They're getting ready for the memorial site to open on the 10th anniversary I believe. We went into a visitor's center that was a preview for what the site will look like. they're building a freedom tower, which you can see an artist's impression of what it will look like on the NY skyline here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/sep/04/911-ground-zero-skyscraper
pretty cool.
