My hair has been called every name under the sun by some. Except black....and any unnatural hair colors. But blonde, brown, red, dirty blonde, strawberry blonde...
I had a lot redder hair when I was little. When I was a baby I had bright red hair that stuck straight up. So cute.
When I was little people would always say "You have such pretty red hair!" With all the impetuousness of a five year old I would immediately correct their wrongness and say "It's not red, it's AU-burn." I still have red in my hair, but not as red as some people's red. It's made a lot more noticeable when I wear green. However, it's so interesting to have so many different reactions to my hair. When I took Intro to Folklore at BYU one of the members in my group with redder hair than I said "there's 3 red heads in our group!" I came home and talked to one of my roommates, Kristin, about it. And she said "Yes Stacey! You're a redhead!" I was then like...but I don't have red hair like your siblings do. But she still thought I fit into their category. I was hesitant and again pulled out the auburn thinking saying, but I'm not like a red-head, because I have a mixture of brown and red (aka auburn). However sometimes I embrace what some think is redheadedness and when people say something bad about redheads I go "HEY!" and they say..."You don't have red hair..." However what really gets me frustrated is when people think I'm blonde! I go "I'm not blonde! Look at her! Then they go "well then you're strawberry blonde." What to call my hair, I'm not sure. I guess I'll still go with a light auburn though I put brown on my recent renewal of my driver's license. I'm not blonde though....
